July 1-4–Stanley.

July 1-31–New Market.
Walking Tours sponsored by the Apple Blossom Inn. Tours will be highlighting the colonial times to the present with a costumed historian daily at 10:30 a.m. except Sunday and Monday. Hear eyewitness accounts, folklore, and music of the Shenandoah Valley. 540-740-3747.

July 1-31–Harrisonburg.

July 2–Harrisonburg. 
The “Summer Jam” benefit concert, will be held at Massanutten Resort, rain or shine. Featuring “Standing Room Only”, “The Hackens Boys” and “The Monster Band”. July 2-12–Salem.
22nd Annual Fair at the Civic Center Complex. Come and enjoy many wonderful shows, exciting rides, game booths, exhibits, food and a lot more. New events–Sea Lion splash, comedy dog show, wild world of animals. Also Hendrick’s Racing Pigs and petting zoo. Musical entertainment on stage nightly. July 2-30–Staunton.

July 3–Lexington.

July 3-5–Harrisonburg.

13th Annual BB&T Balloon Rally at Virginia Military Institute. Hot air balloons, pony rides, live music, food, children’s activities, craft vendors, “Eleanore’s Market Place”, and more. July 4–Luray.

July 4–Staunton.
A traditional 19th century Independence Day Celebration at the Frontier Culture Museum. Games, contests, and the reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon. Free admission. 540-332-7850.

July 4–Basye.
Tenth Annual Arts & Crafts Fair and the 3rd Annual Vintage Car Show at Bryce Resort. There will be children’s activities, castle bounce, dunk tank , and lots more activities going on throughout the day including a climbing wall, and bungee ride. July 4–Luray.

July 4–Broadway.
Benefit concert for Chaplain John Jacobs and his troops serving in Afghanistan. The  show will be held at the Broadway Presbyterian Church, 107 E. Lee Street. This will be a great show with lots of local talent including performers from Harrisonburg, and JMU. July 4-25–Lexington.
“Pancake Breakfast Benefit” sponsored by Applebee’s, 870 North Lee Highway. Every Saturday, Applebee’s restaurant opens their doors from 8-10 a.m. to a different community group. All proceeds from the breakfasts benefit different organizations. Admission fee is $5.00. 540-463-2306.

July 5-26–Harrisonburg.

Civil War Kids Camp (ages 7-12) at the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park. Learn about a soldier’s life through 19th century games, Civil War camp songs, craft activities, and period-style refreshments and much more. July 7-28–Staunton.

July 30-August 1–Luray.
